If they try and go after one of your torp squads, split them up and have the chased one book it far away while the 2nd gets in an unmolested run while your fighters get a free pass at the enemy Torp planes. They only have one fighter squad and will need to chose between defending their Torp bombers or chasing yours, and whichever choice they make, use the other two squads to do damage. You have more squads and that gives you a tactical edge. It does drive me insane when I lose all four fighters and get one shot down, though. It isn't an auto-loss, you just have to be careful. What's the point of even running IJN CVs? I guess that's why I get matched up against Langley almost every game but like one. The Bogue's DBs shot down 4 of my fighters, for the loss of NONE while fighting over a T5 CL on my team.Īnytime I face off a USN CV, it's an auto-loss. I had AA from a Konigsberg and my fighters lost to DIVE BOMBERS. I just played a game with a Zuiho up against a Bogue and Langley, and I lost a fighter squadron to a squadron of freaking dive bombers attacking one of my cruisers. The only fighters I can shoot down are those from another Hosho. I get that USN CVs have better and stronger fighters, but this is so lobsided it's absurd. I once lured a group of Langley fighters into mine parked over a friendly Murmansk, Wyoming and New York and the one Langley fighter squad massacred BOTH my fighter squads, over 3 friendly ships, while losing only ONE fighter. Same question, is there any way a Hosho can beat a Langley in a 1v1 match? Because I haven't been able to.
